Abbey House and Gardens, 25th April 2004
This well attended trip was blessed with good weather, compared to the previous Sunday. The Gardens consist of an upper very attractive laid out garden, that at this time of the year specialises in tulips, unfortunately most were past their best.
Attached to this, are a number of paths that take the visitor through the woods down to a river called the Avon, but not THE Avon. There are numerous walks both within the wood and along the river bank. The only disadvantage is the climb back to the upper garden and House. It is very steep.
The House contains a number of interesting historic artefacts and is well worth looking round.
I am afraid that I failed to ensure that all who had signed up for the trip actually boarded the coach and some were left behind. To these three people my deepest apologies.
